Organization History

In 1988 Dr. Jim DiNucci recognized that the at-risk children of Nacogdoches Texas desperately needed a Boys and Girls Club.

By 1990, the first summer the club was in operation there were 30 members.

Today the Nacogdoches Club serves over one thousand members, has an

average daily attendance of over 200, and is housed in a

1.5 million dollar, wholly owned Clubhouse!

But that’s not all…this movement has spread from Nacogdoches throughout East Texas.

Today there are 6 clubs in the Deep East Texas area, with clubs in Nacogdoches, Lufkin, Diboll, San Augustine, Hardin County, and Polk County.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Deep East Texas now serves over 5,000 children

a year and has a budget of over one million dollars!

Making A Difference

We are committed to serving families in neighborhoods that need us the most.

Many do not have the resources or role models to help them achieve their full potential. We believe a child’s zip code should not determine their chances for success, which is why we are committed to keeping our membership fees affordable for every family.
